Yakob Setvason Osingmahi
About
Yakob Osingmahi, a recent graduate, is involved with the Disability Transformation Advocacy Movement for Inclusion (GARAMIN) in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). This new institution is dedicated to advocating for the equal rights of people with disabilities across all aspects of life in the province. Yakob has a physical disability and utilizes an above-the-knee prosthetic leg for his daily activities.
Yakob studied at the Department of Public Health at Nusa Cendana University in Kupang, and completed his study on June 27, 2023. Feeling compelled to advocate for the often neglected and underrepresented rights of people with disabilities, Yakob joined Garamin NTT as an opportunity to learn and grow in his understanding of disability rights. Subsequently, he assumed the role of program assistant for the inclusive sub-district program in Naikoten 1 Village, Kupang City.
Yakob is deeply committed to contributing to the realization of an inclusive East Nusa Tenggara, where the rights of people with disabilities are recognized and fulfilled.
