EDUCATION FOR EVERYONE
INSPIRASI is a capacity building programme for emerging young civil society leaders from East Indonesia. Each year, ten participants are selected to further develop their knowledge, skills and confidence so they can enhance their contribution to the sustainable development of their community and the wider East Indonesia region.

Nur Ismi Ramadani

Riris is a counselor with experience in providing psychosocial assistance to marginalized and vulnerable groups, including children, migrant workers, women workers, and victims of sexual violence. From 2017 to 2018, she served as a facilitator, assisting children living in Makassar and Maros penitentiaries. In 2019, along with some friends with a background in psychology, she initiated a community called “Bernafas Baik”, aimed at providing psychological support to marginalized groups in South Sulawesi. Establishing this community allowed them to efficiently and strategically pursue their mission.
In 2020, Riris focused on assisting KBMB in providing psychosocial support and advocating for women migrant workers deportees in Nunukan, North Kalimantan. In 2023, she actively supported a union in conducting Feminist Participatory Action Research (FPAR) on the working conditions of women workers in a textile factory in Bekasi, West Java. During the same year, Riris assisted KBMB in organizing undocumented women migrant workers in Sabah, Malaysia.
With a degree in psychology and a master's degree in Gender & Development Studies from Hasanuddin University, Riris is passionate about community development. She has over five years of experience in grassroots community development using a psychology-based approach. The objective of her current program is to gain insights into the provision of diverse psychosocial support to women migrant workers in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi and the role of civil society organizations in supporting migrant workers.

Shaping Inclusive Futures: Yakob Osingmahi’s Work in Kupang
Kupang, 21–23 August 2025 – As part of his Action Project, Yakob Osingmahi, an INSPIRASI 2024 alum, together with his team, facilitated a three-day training for teachers at SD Inpres Lasiana, Kupang. This initiative builds on Yakob’s earlier work in identifying the challenges educators face when teaching children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities, in the classroom.
Action Project Spotlight
Fajar’s project in Makassar tackled the complex barriers to tuberculosis (TB) treatment adherence by building a holistic family and community support network that addressed mental health, financial hardship, and stigma. Through activities such as forming support groups with healthcare workers, survivors, families, and counselors, conducting mental health screenings, launching the #SayaBisaSembuh campaign, and introducing the “Knitting Hope” economic empowerment initiative, the project fostered emotional well-being, reduced stigma, and alleviated financial burdens for TB patients and their families. Despite challenges in participant recruitment, the initiative reached significant impact by leveraging partnerships with NGOs, youth groups, and social enterprises, while empowering survivors as advocates and educators. The project demonstrated the critical role of trust, adaptability, and multisectoral collaboration in supporting treatment adherence and improving community health outcomes.
