Naya manages Kala Teater, a theatre company which performs documentary theatre based on local issues with post-performance facilitated discussions. Naya plans and implements local research to inform creative development and is responsible for documentation and publication. Her action project focused on raising awareness of postpartum depression and the role of governments in protecting mothers. Naya would like to learn about the work of creative NGOs focused on gender issues, pay equity, and community development.

Sorabut Melanesia Represents Asia-Pacific Voices at the Rainforest Conference in Berlin

Sorabut Melanesia (Melan), INSPIRASI alum 2020, recently represented Indonesia and the Asia-Pacific region at the Rainforest Conference held in Berlin, Germany, on 20–22 October 2025. The international gathering, initiated by Misereor, Westpapua-Netzwerk, and the Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP), brought together participants from the world’s three major rainforest regions, the Amazon Basin (Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia), the Congo Basin (Democratic Republic of Congo), and Asia (including Thailand, Kalimantan, and Papua).

INSPIRASI Alum Niko Leads First Papua Indigenous Youth Conference

INSPIRASI 2020 alum Nikolas Imbiri played a key role in organizing the First Papua Indigenous Youth Conference (K1-PAP 2025), held on 7–9 August in Sentani. The event brought together over 218 youth delegates from seven customary regions across Papua to discuss critical issues of human rights, environment, education, and the local economy.

Shaping Inclusive Futures: Yakob Osingmahi’s Work in Kupang

Kupang, 21–23 August 2025 – As part of his Action Project, Yakob Osingmahi, an INSPIRASI 2024 alum, together with his team, facilitated a three-day training for teachers at SD Inpres Lasiana, Kupang. This initiative builds on Yakob’s earlier work in identifying the challenges educators face when teaching children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities, in the classroom.

Book Launch HANAF: Breaking the Silent Conspiracy of Women Domestic Workers

September 10, 2025, marked a significant milestone for Perkumpulan Hanaf Perempuan Flobamoratas (PHPF), or the Flobamoratas Women Hanaf Network, with the publication of its first book, HANAF: Breaking the Silent Conspiracy of Women Domestic Workers. The book is the result of five years of documenting eleven life stories of women domestic workers from East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT), during which we overcame numerous challenges throughout the process.

Consolidation of Women Migrant Workers: Strengthening Women’s Leadership for Gender Justice and Dignified Migration

As the culmination of a series of Action Project activities with women migrant workers, Komunitas Bernafas Baik, in collaboration with Balla’ta Migran held the Consolidation of Women Migrant Workers on Saturday, 27 September 2025, at Kebun Literasi Komunitas (Literacy Community Garden), conducted by Rumah Nalar in Bulukumba Regency. The event marked an important moment to strengthen support networks, women’s grassroots leadership, and protection for women migrant workers and their families.

Riris is a counselor with experience in providing psychosocial assistance to marginalized and vulnerable groups, including children, migrant workers, women workers, and victims of sexual violence. From 2017 to 2018, she served as a facilitator, assisting children living in Makassar and Maros penitentiaries. In 2019, along with some friends with a background in psychology, she initiated a community called “Bernafas Baik”, aimed at providing psychological support to marginalized groups in South Sulawesi.
